The use and storage of Polypropylene reclaimed yarn

Polypropylene reclaimed yarn is an environmentally friendly fiber made from recycled polypropylene materials (such as packaging bags and industrial waste) through processes like melting, filtration, and spinning. It has both cost advantages and sustainable development characteristics, but due to the complex sources of its raw materials, special attention should be paid during use and storage.

I. Key Points for the Use of Polypropylene reclaimed yarn

Necessity of pretreatment: Regenerated yarn contains a relatively high amount of impurities. Before use, it needs to be thoroughly dried (it is recommended to dry at 80-90℃ for 3-4 hours) to prevent moisture from causing spinning breakage or bubble filament.

Equipment adaptability

It is recommended to enhance melt filtration during spinning (using a multi-stage filtration device) to prevent impurities from clogging the spinneret.

Adjust the screw speed and temperature (the temperature range is usually narrower than that of new material, it is recommended to be 195-250℃) to avoid head breakage caused by the difference in melt fluidity.

Application directions of Polypropylene reclaimed yarn

It is preferred for fields with lower strength requirements: filling ropes, low-end carpets, decorative fabrics, shopping bags, etc.

Avoid using it in high-end medical, automotive safety and other fields (due to poor performance stability).

Ii. Preservation Norms

Moisture-proof and sealed: Although the hygroscopicity of regenerated yarn is low, the additives in the raw materials may be hydrophilic. It needs to be sealed and stored in a dry environment (humidity <60%).

Avoid light and prevent aging: Recycled materials have relatively weak resistance to ultraviolet rays. Long-term exposure to light can cause them to become brittle. The warehouse should be shaded and kept away from heat sources.

Classified stacking

Store separately by color and batch to avoid cross-contamination.

Mark clear information (source, production date, viscosity index) and follow the "first in, first out" principle.

Anti-compression and anti-deformation: The rolled yarns should be stored upright on pallets to prevent deformation or adhesion of the yarn barrels due to compression.
